Talk Show Layout
Day One
Host: Good Morning everyone, welcome to the Hot Gossip Show where if you don’t know something you’ll find out on here. Today the talk of the show is about technology. Ok let us start off with this question, who out in the crowd owns any type of electronic devices? That’s a lot of hands out there I see well that’s what the talk is about today. Our first guest today is a 15 year old girl from Atlanta, Georgia named Sarah Brown.
Sarah: Hello everyone
Host:  Ok Sarah, Do you have a Smartphone?
Sarah: Yes, I have an Iphone
Host: Is this your first phone or did you have one before this?
Sarah: No, I had a phone when I was ten, the very first iphone and I only got a phone because my parents use to work over late and I would be home alone without a phone.
Host: Okay do your parents have Smartphones too?
Sarah: Yes, my mother has an android, my father has an iphone too, and my older sister has an android as well.
Host: Seems like your family has a lot of money to spend. Ok what about computers, laptops, or tablets?
Sarah: Yes, we have all those devices in the household because my father runs his business out of the home and he uses the desktop. I use the laptop when I have to research or look up information for school. My mother who loves fitting in with everyone else bought herself an ipad so she can sit in bed and online shop, check what someone post on Facebook, and Facetime her best friend who lives in Utah.
Host: So your father is on the computer 24/7 right?
Sarah: Right
Host: And when you’re on the laptop do you only use it to do school work or do you access other things ?
Sarah: Well…… ummmmmm
Host: I’ll take that as a no because you hesitated to answer the question. But your mother comes right home after work and get on her ipad.
Sarah: Yes
Host: Well that’s all the time we have right now but Sarah you did a great job with answering a couple of questions for the show today.

Day Two
Host: Good Morning everyone welcome to Hot Gossip. Again on the show we’re talking about how technology has changed in the household. Our guest on the show today will be a 21 year old male from West Virginia. Let’s bring out Cody Wilson.
Cody: Hello everyone.
Host: So Cody how are you doing this morning?
Cody: I’m doing fine ready to answer a couple of questions you got for me.
Host: That’s what you are here for so let’s get this show on the road. First question what type of area do you live in Cody?
Cody: I live in a rural area with my grandparents.
Host: Do your grandparents have cell phones?
Cody: Yes, My grandmother has an iphone and my grandfather just has a plain ole cell phone. I got an android which is a Smartphone.
Host: Okay how long do you access the internet on your phone?
Cody: Well on my phone I just check my social media sites and if I’m  away from home and need to look up something real fast I’ll pull out my phone and look up information.
Host: So does your grandmother access the internet on her phone?
Cody: Yes, because she has a Facebook and she loves making statues and posting pictures of the family.
Host: Okay Cody thanks for your time and I appreciate you coming today answering a couple of questions for me.
Cody: You’re welcome

Day Three
Host: Good Morning everyone. How are you‘ll doing? Ok today is the last day for our survey questions for the special guest we’ve been having for the last past two day. Now the guest for today is an older lady from the south, Jackson, Mississippi. Let’s welcome Mrs. Hattie Mae Jones.
Mrs. Jones: Hello everyone it’s so wonderful to be blessed to fly all the way out here. I woman like myself haven’t left out of the south before.
Host: Well look at you know Mrs. Jones, I don’t want to waste a lot of your time because I know you want to explore the city so let’s jump right into it. If you don’t mind mw asking you, how old are you?
Mrs. Jones: Well on the outside I’m 55, but in the inside I’m still 25. Next question please.
Host: Oh really now, I like that about you Mrs. Jones you get right to the money. Question number two, do you have a cell phone?
Mrs. Jones: Why yes I do have a cell phone I don’t know how to work it because my daughter brought it down to me. She said it’s a Smartphone and I can look up things, video chat with the family, and take pictures too. It’s a real nice phone I like it and its so big I would never lose or misplace it.
Host: Well do you access the internet on your smartphone.
Mrs. Jones: I don’t know what the internet is can you explain it more to me?
Host: Ok do you have a Facebook? Do you look up music or anything like that? When you’re looking up information on your phone you’re using the internet Mrs. Jones.
Mrs. Jones: Of course of course child, my grandbaby made me a Facebook account when I first got my phone. I’m on Facebook all the time posting pictures of my grandchildren, looking for the latest gossip, and just on Facebook strolling up and down.
Host: So you’ll say you access the internet two to three times a day? For hours at a time?
Mrs. Jones: Yes, I’ll access the internet up to five times a day and the only reason it takes hours is because I’m old and it’s a hard time for me to read information fast or continue to stroll up and down and I have arthritis.
Host: Not trying to get all into your business, but who all lives in your household and do they have smart phones too?
Mrs. Jones: Well that’s a little personal, but I’m going to tell you anyway. My grandchildren live with me John (17), Sha(22), Chris(9), and Ricky(13). They all have smart phones I guess that’s what you call them. They can’t live without their phone and I’m starting to act the same way.
Host: Well I can tell that they access the internet all day and they probably have all the social media sites to keep up with the latest new and trends. It was nice having you on my show today Mrs. Jones and the viewers watching enjoyed you too. Thanks for coming out and now go enjoy the city.
Mrs. Jones: You’re welcome and you’re right I’m about to hit up the city

Warning!!!!
Are you afraid of internet hackers? Are you afraid of identity theft? Well here are a couple of ways to take down those hackers. You’ll never be afraid again!!!!!

Top 5 ways to avoid hackers
1. Never click on a link you did not expect to receive
v The golden rule hackers use to lure users are pop ups or opening links and attachments.
v Emails might contain obvious spelling mistakes and poor grammar and are easy to spot.
v Social media has helped hackers a lot. Facebook is the number one target for hackers to find a victim because everyone post what they’re doing, where they’re going, who is with them, and what clothes they have on.
v When you receive messages or emails that tells you to click on the link DON’T because its hackers.
2. Use different passwords on different sites
v When you have a lot of different accounts and you tend to use simple passwords like loved ones names, pets, or birthday. Those are the number passwords hackers use first and find out that information through your social media websites.
v When you’re thinking about a new password add some numbers or special characters
v For instance use the first and last letter from the website you’re creating an account for then add a phrase or word in the middle
Example: Facebook your password can be FG1RLB00K
3. Never reuse your main email password
v A hacker who has cracked into your main email has the keys to your kingdom.
v Your passwords from other sites can get reset because you used your main email for facebook, google, youtube, and etc. and the hacker has access to everything now.
v Try to stay away from using your main email on sites that hackers can hack into and still your identity
4. Think before you tweet and how you share information
v The principal risk is ID fraud. Personal information is the number one thing hackers are looking for these days.
v Dumpster-diving – thieves would trawl through bins searching for personal documents to steal someone’s ID.
v If you want to get rid of old junk mail, credit cards, and personal information SHRED IT!!!!!! NEVER THROW IT AWAY!!!!
  5. Ignore pop-ups
v Pop-ups contain malicious software which can trick a user into verify something.
v When you access a pop-up it’ll begin downloading a software onto your computer called malware. Known as a drive-by download.
v Stay away from pop-ups because when that software is on your computer hackers can break into your important files and access your information.

                                                                              Ransom Notes
Day 1
To whom this may concern I’ve been watching you and our family almost every day for the last couple of weeks. You’ll come into burger king every day at 1:37pm. You have three children two boys and one girl. You have an iPhone 5 with a lime green otter box. When you come in to order you hesitate to order and have the rest of the line backed up because you’re on the phone. Your oldest son had to order the food for everyone. You’re still on your phone when you’ll take a seat to eat. Someone called you, and you answered your daughter asked for help tying her shoe laces and you pushed her away and continued your conversation.

Day 2
I’m an undercover agent observing information on how parents let their smartphones get more attention than their own children. I don’t want to come off as a threat, but I just want you to realize the pain you’re putting on your children. Maybe if you took your eyes off your phone then you’ll realize how you’re hurting your children in the long run. When you’ll came into burger king your daughter asked you could you tie her shoe but you brushed her off and sent text messages on your phone. Minutes later your son came up to you and wanted to talk about his band concert but you wasn’t listening because you was more into candy crush then your son’s excited moment. He walked off sad and tied his little sister’s shoe laces. May I ask you a question? Do you think your phone is more important to you than your kids?  Your phone shouldn’t be on the way when your children are asking for help or telling you something important.

Day 3
I guess that note didn’t scare you or inform you on your parenting skills. How about this I’ll have doctors come out for a home visit and give your children an annual health checkup. Did you know spending time at home together at homes makes the family’s bond stronger? You should google things like that since your phone is always in your hand. Eating home cooked meals and eating at a kitchen table is the #1 rule to a strong family. As I can see you don’t care about that because you’ll eat here every day.
p.s. I’ve been watching you for a while now J

Day 4
Hey you there it’s me again!!!! I guess my last two notes brought you back to reality. When you and you’re family came into burger king yesterday you ordered the food, you tied your little girl’s shoe lace, and took pictures with your phone of the kids playing. I’m glad I got to you through to you by leaving notes on your car about your actions with your smartphone. Now you see your family with a whole different outlook. The main reason I was leaving these notes on your car is because you have to be aware and mindful what you do in front of your children. Your children reflect off your actions, if you’re not showing your child love then your child could think about suicide. Never let other thinks get in the way of your major priorities.

MGP #1 Rewrite

  Student
Dear Diary,
I’m starting to not like high school anymore it’s stressing me out. It’s like my teacher is picking on me whenever it’s time to read aloud in class. I get nervous palms begin to sweat, and start reading ahead to make sure I understand my paragraph before it’s my turn to read. One day I was counting heads and paragraphs to see which paragraph I’ll get and the teacher called my name to read. The paragraph was the hardest of them all, it was about 1000 words long; long as the longest interstate in the world the words I couldn’t pronounce like a Chinese person learning English and I was scared. (amplication) I had to read the paragraph or else everyone in the class would know I couldn’t read. Well I could read but I couldn’t read like the normal kids like at the fast pace I had my own pace but to the normal kids they’ll think my reading was funny. So I started to read the paragraph aloud to the class.

 Teacher
Dear Diary,
I’ve noticed today that one of my students in the class suffer from a reading disorder. When I called on her to read today she hesitated and looked nervously around the class at the rest of the students. Don’t get me wrong she read the passage but she struggled throughout the 5 sentences. Maybe I’ll have my aide do some extra side tutoring with her.

Student
Dear Diary,
The teacher pulled me aside after class and asked me do I like to reading. She drilled me with questions and I finally told her I have a reading disorder and she said she could solve that problem for me well try to help as much as she can.

Teacher
Dear Diary
I think I scared her by asking her about her problem but it’s up to me to help her out when I see someone struggling in my class. I really think she’ll enjoy Mrs. Flowers. During class they’ll go to the library for more one on one time.

Student
Dear Diary
I was researching a solution to help other kids like me that struggle with reading disabilities in the classroom. I’m getting better in the classroom reading aloud because of the extra help with Mrs. Flowers. She really takes the time out to help me when I’ve messed up in my reading. When I had some extra time left in class she let me access the computer to do some research on this project. The article that I found gave me a lot of information about children dealing with learning disabilities. Now I can try to set up an appointment with the board of education to help fund this project in the schools. I know this is a big thing and is going to coat a lot of money but it’s beneficial to the children with reading disabilities.

Teacher
Dear Diary
Brittany is a very smart girl she researched a possible answer to help others like her that are struggling with reading in classrooms. So I gathered up all the English teachers and anyone else that wanted to help out with this project. Brittany smiled from ear to ear when she found all the people in the library ready to help with her own idea.

Student
Dear Diary
With the help of all the staff and students we managed to come up with a presentation to present to the board of education to see if they could pass this idea!!!

Teacher
Dear Diary
Today is a big day for the staff and I we are going to visit the board of education committee with us luck!!!! J

Student
Dear Diary
WE DID IT!!!!!!!!!!!!! I made a team all by myself. I managed to take on a huge project with the help of my team. We did it if it wasn’t for them I would still be struggling in class with my reading. I’m so happy that today I’m not going to write a lot because we’re going out to celebrate!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Teacher
Dear Diary
YES!!!!!!!!!!!! The board of education passed this idea and our school is the first time test taker to see if it’ll actually work to see if the children are reading.

Student
Dear Diary
It’s a new year and a new start in high school with the advantages of the new technology we’re using in the classrooms for the children with reading disabilities. The board of education and a couple more sponsors helped fund this project by donating 3 million dollars. This project allows classroom to use audio book to help children with reading disabilities. The teachers love this idea because they say the audio books help out a lot with children struggling to read. Studies have shown that students with learning disabilities that use the audio books love to read now. They have increased their reading skills also.

BoE
Dear Diary
To see a student step out of her comfort zone and let everyone know about her reading disorder is a big deal. So we fund this project to help out the ones in classrooms that struggle with reading disabilities and are afraid to speak up. We’re waiting to do this worldwide in every school to see if this actually works. We had the students take a test before and they’ll take one after to see if there is any improvement. We don’t want to waste our money on something that’s irreverent to school.

Teacher
Dear Diary
Ooowwwwweee with the help of these new audio books Brittany and a lot more students love to read! The books we’re a great idea to bring into the classroom. It makes learning fun to those with dyslexia or other reading disabilities.

Student
Dear Diary
I love to read reading is love. (antimetabole) I read at home at church and almost anywhere I can. With the help of the audio book app I can download any type of book to read because as soon as a book is released in paper form it’s also released in the audio form as well.

Teacher
Dear Diary
Without the improvement of technology we wouldn't be able to do a lot of things we do on a daily basis. I can download different books relating to my work for school at home to be prepared for the next day.

Student
Dear Diary
I’m proud of myself for making this project happens but I didn't realize all the money that’ll be spent to make all this happen. Even though the department of education spent over 20 million dollars to create audio books for children with reading disabilities now children aren't afraid to read aloud in class. (antanagoge) some of the parents argue about the money issue because they say it could have gone to something more important. Little does these parents know that this is a huge issue that a lot of people like to look over. Most of the northern schools have these audio books in classroom but i really don’t know when they’ll be in the southern states.

BoE
Dear Diary
We saw I huge improvement with the audio books in classrooms that we’ve deceived to fund a couple more schools which results in a lot more money. This isn’t a cheap project but it’s worth the education. We are still amazed that a young student thought about this idea instead of a teacher or principal. Some parents might think we’re wasting money because their child can read but this is a huge deal that a lot of people ignore but it’ll take time to spread audio books everywhere.

Student
Dear Diary
Now that everyone has their own audio book in the class the teacher has to go around and log everyone in one by one. Some teachers say it’s a stressful job at times but the students are learning with technology that is starting to rule the world. The students learn faster with technology then just listening to a teacher stand up and lecture.

Teacher
Dear Diary
Audio books we’re a great invention to classrooms and maybe we could do a project on how technology has improved our lives. I can’t wait to start teaching again August to the students that hasn’t experience the audio books.

Student
Dear Diary
Its summer time and school is out. I was voted most courageous and won. Everyone knew who I was throughout high school because I made a big move actually made the big move happen. Every second I’m reading every minute I’m reading every hour I’m reading every day I’m reading all because of audio books. (anaphora) now I’m not afraid to bring up my story about my reading disability or read in front of a big crowd, it wasn’t for audio books I’ll still be shy reading ahead of the class to see what paragraph I’ll have to read aloud or worry about my classmates laughing at me. I've got a friend that lives down south audio books haven’t reached them yet and whenever someone brings up her disorder she’ll deny it and act as if she’s lost and changes the subject. (Apophasis) hopefully the whole world will be able to use audio books in classrooms for children with learning disabilities because the audio books really do work.

HIGH SCHOOL

Do you ever think about why high school is built the way its built? Not it's foundation or it's structure, but the way certain people hang out with certain people. How some people wear different types of clothing? Why do people bully one another? Why are some teachers nice while other ones are mean? Why African American kids stick together, Whites hang out with their race, but then you have the kids like me that are friendly and hangs with everyone. Why is high school set up like this?
Do you think that internet shopping has increased since 2000?

True Facts

Technology really hasn't hit our older generation yet, but is influencing our younger ones. Almost every child between the ages of 11 and older has a social networking site: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Vine, or Youtube. Parents, have you ever took the time out to see what your child is looking at on those sites? Last night, around 12:00 am, as i was strolling down my TL (timeline) on Twitter i saw some inappropriate posts. If I'm 17 and i find those things inappropriate to my eyes, what do you think there doing to a little 11 year old child. It's like the media wants us to do these things and be looked at wrong. Every commercial on television is talking about teen pregnancy or drugs and alcohol. Some kids think that what they see on television is okay to do so they turn to drugs, alcohol, sex, babies, gangs, and crime. Have you ever saw the advertisement for the video game Grand Theft Auto or Call Of Duty? Those are the games that all the younger children die for, but do you think those games are safe for their eyes to see? You can get on the internet nowadays you can find Barbie Dolls, that'll have babies. Technology is just a little to advance for the little ones today.

College Student Insight

"The advantages Technology has given us outweigh the disadvantages."

Many argue that as we venture further into the frontier of technology we proceed with a slow death of society, by losing culture and ultimately a sense of self. To a certain extent this may be true, but realistically if we cease to progress we wont be able to survive. (Robert)
There are many examples of advantages and disadvantages some mentioned were " Technology has the ability to create shortcuts in working and can make tasks easier also. Solid examples are cars, calculators and phones, through technology life may be faster but is also easier. To further this point a fact brought up by Jo-ann was that diseases we have today would be and could have become epidemics, if it were not for technology being there in the field of medicine, medical advances would not have happened or would have come years later (Jo-ann). As far as transportation man has come a long way from horses and coal driven trains to computer navigable and driven cars. In boats crossing the Atlantic it took four to six months, in 747 airliner commercial jets takes ten to fifteen hours (Dana), even though they add to the pollution crisis a population accustomed to having these conveniences is still using them regardless. Among other advantages is the fact that with technology communications is a hundred times faster than without it (Ailua). Before telephones, emails and fax machines, there were trains, carriages and the pony express with the modes of traveling we have now we have been able to make the world smaller so to speak. With technology we enjoy luxuries such as movies, television, fresh food and refrigerators, ovens to cook on and bake in. And with every advantage that technology gives, it brings along with it a disadvantage we have come to depend on it more and more as we advance in the field.

Do you think technology has changed your lives? In what type of ways has it changed your lives? I've noticed how everyone depends on their cell phones... RIGHT ??? Personally I can't live without my cell phone, my cell phone is my best friend! I received my first cell phone when i was in the 10th grade! Nowadays, children are getting cell phones in the 5th grade! Do you think that's crazy??? I do because parents are letting their children and technology RULE them. So do you think technology has changed our lives? Or helped us out?

For Everyone To See ....

i love expressing myself so everyone can understand me more. i love letting my mind just run wild with the random thoughts that come to my mind and i have to let them out right then and there. LOL!!!!! it makes me happy when i know i have touched someone's heart or lifted them up..

How Am I Feeling .....

Lately I've been catching myself hanging with the wrong group of people..... Why, because I'm a socialable, outgoing, and friendly person. My real FRIENDS and FAMILY has noticed the different moods I've been in and how I've been hanging out with the WRONG PEOPLE. What do i do???? Is the question I've been asking myself lately.........
